PROJECTS

EDUCATION

Over the last four years our educational efforts have increased school enrollments by 30 % and reduced incidence of water-borne disease affecting children in a significant way. In addition to our annual supply drive and hygiene seminars, we will be We will be sponsoring 5 orphaned girls school tuition and housing for the year.

MISSION AQUA

One in five people do not have access to clean water in the United States. However, in underdeveloped nations, that statistic is much more devastating. Mission Aqua was created to fulfill that need, and work toward meeting the U.N.'s world millennium goals for access to clean water globally.

HEALTH CAMPS

Over 80% of Nepal's population lives in Rural areas where basic health care services are limited. For a majority of people living in rural areas, geographical, economic, and cultural barriers hamper access to health care and facilities. Our annual Health Camps are imperative to assisting in achieving better access for the people of rural Nepal. Our partnership with local NGO, Sagarmatha Health Foundation helps us do just that.

AMA KO GHAR

'Ama ko ghar' literally translates to 'The Mothers House.' It was started by a woman who saw a need for the homeless elderly and youth on the streets in Nepal. MLB's relationship with 'Ama ko ghar' began in the summer of 2012, when we were able to donate over 35 new mattresses, new bedding, and a $400 monetary donation.

TECHNOLOGY

In the last three trips to Nepal, Making Lives Better has been able to donate refurbished technology to aid in the Education in Primary Schools in rural villages like Doti, Silghadi.

CULTURE

The Nepalese culture is rich and inviting despite the political unrest that floods the streets. The MLB Nepal trips place an emphasis on the balance between service and the importance of cultural understanding. Visiting historic temples, monasteries, art exhibits, and parties, MLB offers a well-rounded experience for participants.
